ARTIST STATEMENT

My work inspires by Persian poetry, dance, music, and nature. I wonder how humans use these tools to comprehend the divine and experience transcendence and ineffable freedom. Starting from my roots in Persian traditions, I am branching out, seeking my place in the universe, and looking for enlightenment, among other belief systems. I draw inspiration from Persian poets and scholars like Rumi, which form my research's basis - particularly the Sufi mystic Attar. Their poems communicate a holistic perception of the world that I find illuminating. My current body of work is a series of installations, and the vision of my performance is investigating the concept of psychological flow, specifically how humans can experience ecstatic flow in connection with the natural and inner human worlds. I am creating atmospheric space and a sense of mystery by using unconventional techniques on alternative surfaces, sound, shadow, and projection mapping. My installations present a multilevel exploration, an investigation of the phenomenology of flow, intentionality, spirituality, consciousness, and, specifically, how humans can experience ecstatic flow in connection with the natural world. In my studio practice, I recently started incorporating scientistic studies and natural phenomena relative to my work.text.
